Hello Mamma,
I hope you are doing great by this point in your pregnancy. I know how exciting and anxious is to finally be preparing your hospital bag, finally meet your sweet baby, and embrace motherhood.
It is always great to have your hospital bag ready at least 2 or 3 weeks prior your due date. You don’t want to leave everything last minute having the contractions and packing your bag.
My due date was on February 3rd, and I delivered on January 29th. Thank goodness I googled and searched on Pinterest things to pack in my hospital bag ahead of time. I had my bag ready at 35 weeks. Having my hospital bag ready was one thing out of the way to focus on nesting.
I arrived to the hospital on Wednesday, January 29th at 2am and was in active labor for 20+ hours. I delivered my daughter at 10:41pm. After delivery I had to stay in the hospital for 24 hrs just to “rest” and wait for anesthesia to wear off. And my healthcare provider monitored me and baby to make sure no problems develop. Therefore, I stayed in the hospital for 2 nights. We were discharged on Friday noon.
So it all depends in your situation not all pregnancies and deliveries are the same. Just sharing my own experience.
I will be sharing the items I packed in my hospital bag and baby girls bag for a vaginal birth along with the items I packed but did not use.
